2021: Quarterly Workshop

Join us for our quarterly workshop!  As we have been doing the last few workshops, this will be held virtually.  Information with the link to sign in will be sent prior to the workshop. 

We are excited to have the following presenters and will update with additional information as it becomes available. 


1:00-2:00 PM- Wesley Decker with Comcast (with questions)

Wesley Decker, Comcast Cable

Wes is currently working as the Director of Business Continuity and Crisis Management for the Central Division of Comcast Cable which is comprised of 13 States ranging from Florida to Michigan.  He relocated to Atlanta GA in late 2019 to assume this role after spending 4 years in the Northeast Division as the Sr. Manager of Business Continuity and Security.   Prior to that Wes served as the Director of Security Operations for Steward healthcare systems in Boston MA.  Prior to working in the corporate world Wes was the president on Focal Point Investigations, a private investigations firm in Southern New Hampshire and, he was a police officer in the town of Salem NH for 11 years before retiring due to a line of duty injury. 

Wes holds a Bachelor of Science in Education as well as 2 Master’s degrees.  One in Criminal Justice and another in Emergency Management.  He also holds his CPP certification from ASIS and was recently elevated to MBCI from the Business Continuity Institute. He is also a Part 107 FAA certified drone pilot.

Presently Wes resides just outside of Atlanta with his wife and daughter.  He has 2 older sons who remained in the New England area when they relocated.

2:15-3:00 PM - Nathan Smith with EMC Insurance (with questions)

Nathan Smith, EMC Insurance

Nathan Smith is an Innovation Specialist within the Risk Improvement Department at EMC Insurance.  He has been with the department for the last three years, and was in the IT department for 2 years prior.  Nathan holds a BS degree in Communications from Iowa State University, AINS and ARM designations, an FAA107 and private pilot licenses.

Nathan will discuss a short history of EMC’s drone program and how its machine learning detects roof defects with little human intervention and how it reduces loss drivers.
