Objectives:

This training is designed to educate participants on the basic components of the Incident Command System. The Incident Command System is used during emergency events.

The following topics will be studied:

Common Terminology

• Modular Organization

• Management By Objectives

• Incident Action Plan

• Span of Control

• Incident Facilities and Locations

• Resource Management

• Command and Transfer of Command

• Chain/Unity of Command

• Unified Command

Accountability

Dispatch/Deployment

• Information/Intelligence

• Communications

Prerequisites for this class are ICS100 or ICS700.

 

  • Explain how major incidents pose special management challenges
  • Describe the circumstances in which an Area Command is established
  • Describe the circumstances in which multiagency coordination systems are established.
